Description: A truly Transylvanicum truffle which was widely collected in the late 19th century, and sold in the Royal Court in Vienna. Mostly found in pine forest on high altitude (600-1100 m), the white truffle is one of the most tasteful truffles in our region. Although it is the only specie which can keep its smell and taste after drying, because it is very difficult to find, its gastronomical spread is very limited. Gourmands wanted.

Other names: Mäandertrüffel, Schweinetrüffel.

Availability: July – September
